I have resisted the temptation to respond to last week’s furore. However I have to say, I did not think these guys were being sexist – it was a ****ing joke. I would have thought that was obvious to anyone. And in any case, it’s their website, they can do and say what they like. I don’t care, I wish I’d never written the thing and I cannot believe the fuss it caused. Right, hope that’s cleared that up. Good roundup btw

You refer to Brian Taylor’s “surprisingly good website”. Fair enough but I have given up trying to post on it. I found it infuriating to have taken the time and trouble to post only to find when I press ’submit’ I regularly got the “there has been a problem” message and the submission rejected becuase of site problems. Pretty poor show from the awesomely well resourced BBC.

I didn’t actually mean that Scotland is a banana republic, I meant the UK as a whole under New Labour, and that Scotland was the latest example.
